Redmond highlights its businesses

Straw Propeller was one of four manufacturing businesses highlighted Friday during the tour. About 40 Redmond movers and shakers also visited Oregon’s Wild Harvest, an herbal supplement maker; Majesty’s Animal Nutrition, a natural animal supplement producer; and Tate and Tate Catering. The tour was designed to show off Redmond manufacturing businesses that are a bit out of the public eye — all four companies are located on the east side of U.S. Highway 97 — but make major contributions to the area’s economy.

“Other cities do similar tours,” said REDI Senior Manager Jon Stark. “But this really came out of a conversation I had with a young man at the soccer fields. He asked me, ‘What’s going on in that building? And that building?’ And I realized people really didn’t know what all was happening on the other side of the railroad tracks.”

All four companies highlighted have become leaders in their respective fields.
