Central Oregon's Manufacturing Make-over

Twenty years ago, industries in wood products, mills, boats and motor coaches were the main trades in Central Oregon’s economy. Over time, we have seen a manufacturing makeover in the region. Today, we see a much more diverse set of industries in manufacturing. The list is long with auto parts and aviation supplies; housing materials, construction, beauty and medical supplies; athletic equipment, bio-ag, computer and tech parts; new uprisings in hemp and cannabis; and lastly, food and beverage.  In an interview with Economic Development for Central Oregon’s CEO, Roger Lee, this Cascade Business News article highlights the economic impact of Central Oregon’s thriving manufacturing industry.
