Growth Continues for Redmond Companies

Growth Continues for Redmond Companies

If you’ve driven along Hwy 97 recently, you may wonder as you approach Redmond’s south end of town, “what is the massive steel structure arising from the BasX parking lot?” Further north of town, one may wonder where all the churning noise is coming from surrounding Medline ReNewal.

The answer? Two companies in Redmond are expanding their operations. Below are a few quick facts for these expansion projects along with how their growth will positively impact Redmond’s economy.

While these projects could be viewed as merely the building of new structures, REDI views them as also building opportunity for our community.

  • Two projects consist of adding 75,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and 15,000 sq ft. of office space totalling 90,000 sq. ft.
  • Target completion of manufacturing space is April 2021, with office space addition complete in winter
  • An estimated 50 new jobs will be added over the next year
  • $20 million (approx.) investment in this facility in 2020 and 2021
  • Current sq. ft.: 50,000; Medline’s new addtion will add 52,000 sq. ft. totalling 102,000 sq. ft. of production and office space.
  • Target completion Q4 of 2021
  • In 2020, Medline ReNewal continued hiring 11 additional professional staff and over 30 production jobs
  • An estimated 40-60 jobs will be added over the next three years

Besides a bit of dust in the air, one might question how does all this affect me and my neighborhood? Redmondites can be excited about the additional jobs with great salaries and the new opportunities these two companies present.

Matt Tobolski, President and Founder of BasX noted: “We are proud to call Redmond home and be able provide solid wages and professional growth potential for the talented workforce of the region.”

BasX is a strong player in the HVAC market serving data centers, cleanrooms and custom commercial markets. It boasts a strong work force that is a mix of technical engineering roles, manufacturing operations and skilled production. BasX is investing heavily in new equipment and technology to increase its competitiveness in the market including price and speed to market.

Medline’s expansion will add space for existing and future growth and a new product line that is currently subcontracted outside of their facility, bringing those jobs in to Redmond. Steve Bettis, Sr. Director of Manufacturing at Medline tells us: “Our growth impacts Redmond by allowing our local vendors to grow with us!”

From REDI’s point of view, a multimillion-dollar investment in the local community is nothing to shake a stick at. That these companies continue to invest so extensively in Redmond shows the desire to operate locally and to see the community thrive.
