Redmond features several permanent public art pieces and several “on loan” pieces through a program called Art Around the Clock. This is an outdoor gallery that is designed to enhance the beauty and livability of the community and features a select showing of juried pieces on a rotating basis.

For true art lovers, a walk through downtown Redmond during one of the Third Friday Strolls says it all. Paintings, sculptures and photography are on display in businesses, retail shops, restaurants, offices and on sidewalks.

Over the past two decades, Central Oregon’s communities have embraced the arts and made them an integral part of local life as well as an attraction for visitors. Organizations like Arts Central have worked tirelessly championing regional art promotion, restoration and education. Their efforts are on display throughout Bend thanks to the Art in Public Places program that has helped adorn our numerous traffic roundabouts with truly stunning works. The education component of Art Station – Education Outreach – is showcased through the Art Station, Central Oregon’s only non-profit visual arts school for budding artists of all ages and incomes.

Also check out downtown Bend and the Old Mill District during one of the first Fridays of the month. Paintings, sculptures and photography are on display in galleries, retail shops, offices and on sidewalks. Award-winning juried art fairs draw thousands to Bend and Sunriver every summer. While the annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show – going on now for 48 years on July 8th – remains the largest of its kind in the U.S. More than 10,000 visitors from all 50 states and multiple foreign countries flock to sisters on the second Saturday in July.

The High Desert Museum in Bend offers hands-on exhibits for inquiring minds of all ages. The museum reveals the nature of things in the West’s high desert through artful exhibits, alluring animals, engaging programs and meaningful history.
